Favorite Past-times

I thought I enjoyed being with Reegan when she was a newborn, but she is so much more fun now. She does want to be entertained at all times and when she is ready to change activities, she wants change NOW. The good news is that she likes everything, so its not hard to find a new activity. Our living room rapidly has transformed from a "grown-up" room, to a room full of baby items. We got her sassy seat (a doorway jumper) out this last week and she loves it. She doesn't know that she can bounce in it yet, but when we bounce her she smiles and laughs! I am so glad we have such a smiley girl!!!

Along with her sassy seat, she also loves her exersaucer. If I need to get a few things done around the house that is my go to toy. The last few times I have tried to exercise with my 30 day Jillian Michael's Shred DVD, Reegan has woken up in the middle from her nap (she continues to refuse to sleep longer than 20-30 at a time during the day) . The first couple of times I just shut off the video and vowed to complete it again the next day. The last couple times, I moved Reegan to her exersaucer so that she could "exercise" while I exercise. Not sure why, but Reegan thinks its SO funny to watch me exercise. She sits there and smiles at me and the tv the whole time (maybe because I am so far from being "shredded"?) ... and could careless about her toys.

This week Reegan rolled over for the first time. It hasn't been repeated, so it must have been an accident, either that or she doesn't want to repeat it because I got so excited the first time that I scared her! I have spent the last 2 days with my video camera waiting for her to do it again. As soon as I pull the camera out, she just lays there and smiles at me...I do have some cute videos, maybe I'll just post one of those!

Graduation

Saturday, we headed to Manhattan, KS for my brother's graduation. We were a little nervous about how our first road trip with Reegan was going to be. It is only two hours, but that two hours could be extremely long if she had decided to cry the entire time! Thankfully she did OK, she cried about half of the time on the way down and slept the other half. It was a really busy day. We got a chance to meet up with our friends Joel and Jen Johnson and their daughter Ellie for a cup of coffee. It was so great to catch up! (Also a huge congrats to them and their new addition - Alexa!) After that we headed to the Olive Garden for lunch/dinner with my family. I think I ate at least 4 bread sticks! Yum! We had some downtime before Jeff's graduation ceremony so we chilled in his apartment for a bit, and then headed over to Bramlage for the big event.

After the ceremony, we snapped a few pics to commemorate the day.

After such a long afternoon and evening (and virtually no nap mixed in there!) Reegan slept the ENTIRE ride home. We were so thankful for that! It was a really fun day and I am so proud of my brother. I admire him for completing a mechanical engineering degree - something I couldn't do, and for growing up to become a great guy all around. Love ya bro!
On a fun side note, Reegan was taking a quick nap on Sunday and found herself in one of the cutest positions yet. I love how her little legs are crossed! :)

3 Months Old!

First off we want to acknowledge Mother's Day that was on Sunday! It was Jess' first, obviously, which was fun to celebrate, but beyond that we have our own moms that we love so much. We are so grateful to have them here in town to help babysit!! Thanks Jan and Kim! Reegan helped us deliver their gifts to them on Sunday afternoon - coffee mugs with a collage of Reegan pictures. :)

And then yesterday was Reegan's 3 month birthday! We didn't really do anything too exciting, but Jess was able to snap a bunch of cute pics. It's so amazing to think about how BIG our little baby has gotten. We didn't have a doctor's appointment this month so we took her measurements ourselves...or at least we tried. By our calculations Reegan is now right around 12 and 1/2 pounds and 24 and 1/2 inches tall! It already getting hard to remember how small she was when she was first born. It was only three months ago, but it seems like years sometimes.

Here are some of the pictures Jess took yesterday. Reegan is so full of expression now. We just absolutely love seeing her reactions to different things!

Reegan's latest developments

Lately, it seems like every day and every night that we play with Reegan, some new "skill" or activity is taking place. Most of these new developments have been so fun, some not so much fun!

Starting with the not so fun stuff- Reegan has found that she can blow bubbles, but...with the bubbles comes drool! When she gets started it doesn't stop. She has also found her hands. For the past 4 days she has been sticking her left hand into her mouth and chewing on it. She has been a great nighttime sleeper, but the past week has been so inconsistent (maybe a growth spurt?). One night she will wake up 3 or 4 times during the night and then last night she slept for over 9 hours, woke up to eat and then went back to sleep for almost another 3 hours.

Okay, the good things - Reegan has been smiling for weeks, but every now and then we get a little "giggle" out of her! I can't wait until she laughs with us, because we laugh at all of the cute things she does all the time.

Reegan has been so much fun to take out to restaurants or shops, she loves to look around and once she spots a ceiling fan, she is completely captivated. It is so interesting how something so basic causes her to be so interested.

Probably my most favorite is Reegan on her playmat. We work on tummy time and when she is on her back, there are toys that dangle abover her. Just recently she focuses on the toys and just stares at them and smiles. Every once in a while she will lift up a hand and bat at the toys, however at this point, I think that is more of an accident and not purposeful movement. Still fun to see happen though.

Check back tomorrow for an update on Reegan's stats and some pictures! :)

Reegan's Friends

This was a weekend of high school friends! A friend of Jason's came into town, so he spent some time with him this afternoon. On Friday night, we went to a BBQ with my closest high school friends. My, how we have changed in the past 9 (wow, can't believe we graduated that long ago) years. Here we all are with our children!
One year ago, there was only Cade, now look at the group! Cade, was very infatuated with Reegan, he kept coming up and giving her hugs and really wanted to hold her for the picture. Since she is the only one who cannot sit up on her own, he got his wish!
Last night, Jason (with the help of our little one) was working on updating our computer software. What would he do without her help??!
