Worlds of Fun!

I'm going to warn you up front...there are NO pictures of the cute little one in this post.  Just Jason and I!  Last night we went to World's of Fun with our friends the Rainwaters.  Jason's dad's company rents out the park every year and this year we were fortunate enough to come!  There were no lines, so it was the best way to experience Worlds of Fun.  Jason and David were very excited and were talking game plan in this picture  (which rides to ride in what order...)

Rachel and I...

Getting ready to go on the Prowler.  We went once in the daylight and once after dark...I have to say the nighttime was much scarier, because we couldn't see what was coming at all!
We were at the park until 11, and when we were approx 1 mile from home, we ran into a sobriety check-point.  Neither one of us has ever been in one before so it was kinda interesting.  Don't worry, we passed :)  (actually we were very happy to see that everyone in our line of cars also passed).

Today, we didn't get a ton accomplished...had a very tired/grumpy girl on our hands.  In fact, it is 6:30 as I type this and she is already asleep for the night.  Hopefully tomorrow goes a little better :)

Easter!!!

Reegan's Easter celebration started on Thursday, while my mom was babysitting. She had Reegan help decorate a certerpiece for us.

Saturday we went to Lifetime Fitness with my Aunt and cousin to swim during the afternoon (of course, Reegs loved it!) and then we went to Jason's family's house for dinner. We forgot the camera, I know...please forgive us. Sunday we went to church and decided to take Reegan to the service with us instead of taking her to the nursery. We were quickly reminded why we don't take her with us :) She was all over the place! That afternoon we went to my grandparents house for lunch and an Easter egg hunt.

She then burned off some energy chasing cousin Dalton around the house

And then played some b-ball

Reegan also had enjoyed her first cookie. Thats right, she is almost 15mo old and just had her first cookie. It is getting harder to keep her from noticing sweets, but we are trying!!! How excited does she look? It's hard saying no to that face!

Reegan received some wonderful gifts including lots of clothes, a stuffed rabbit, and a purse (that she collected eggs in). Jason and I bought her this refrigerator alphabet toy. She has been playing with it almost constantly and even carries it around the house playing the alphabet. It hasn't even been 24 hours and we've already been second guessing our decision to get this toy...oh well, it helps her learn, right??

A Trip to the Dentist

The time has come for Reegan to have her pearly whites looked at! Luckily for us, our friend David is a soon to be dentist! He is a student at UMKC and agreed to let us bring Reegan up to their clinic for a check-up.

While we were getting all of Reegan's history into the computer, she was checking everything out. There was TONS for her to look at!

Her exam was what they call in the biz a "knee-lap exam" where Reegan sat in Jessica's lap and laid back onto David's knees.

Luckily for David, he didn't have to do all that much besides take a quick peek inside her mouth. She was quite squirmy. But, he said everything looks PERFECT! 9 teeth and counting. :)

For being such a fantastic patient, Reegan was offered a toy...she refused them, and left empty handed. What?! Oh well, not like we needed another noise-making toy in our house, right?

David was great (please don't let Reegan's expression in the above picture fool you...), so if you or anyone you know is in need of getting your own pearls checked out, let us know and we can pass along your info!!!

14 Months!...And Other Events

We missed posting about the 14-month mark in our baby girl's life by a few days now, but we thought better late than never, right? Last weekend, after church, our Sunday school class head over to Shawnee Mission Park to have a picnic. It was fun to get everyone out in the sun and let several of the kids play together. Reegan LOVES being outdoors...especially in her sun hat!

It was extremely windy! We literally had to hold our food down if we were planning to eat it and not let it end up in the lake. It was still a great time though. :)

We had a couple "yard games" as well...again the wind was a major factor.

For her 14-month birthday, we did manage a quick photoshoot with Reegan in her chair...

It took her a minute to get into position.

But once she did, she was all smiles!!

These were the best 4 shots I could get in the 90 seconds I could actually keep her in the chair! This girl is ON THE MOVE these days. She is not a fan of sitting in one place for much longer than a minute...for real! But it's SO fun to watch her play and explore. She loves to follow us around the house also. If we leave a room, you better believe she's right behind us. She's our little shadow. :)

The other day, Jess was doing some yoga and Reegan decided she wanted to add some extra "resistance" for mommy... Jess was thrilled to have her help... And then here are just a couple shots that were too precious not to post... Yesterday, we took Reegan out to her first Royals game of the year. Jessica's dad came with us and helped keep her entertained. Of course, Reegan was mostly curious about what everyone else besides the players were doing for most of the game. She and Jess even went walking up and down the walkway on the lower level and Reegan waved "Hi" to people and smiled and made friends. :) This face doesn't look thrilled, but the Royals did win! Off to a good start this season. We'll see if that lasts... It's been a crazy, busy weekend around here, and we've hauled Reegan all over town the last two days. She is such a trooper! She has just been as happy as she can be and we cannot be more thankful for such an easy-going baby girl. Love her!!

Week of the Young Child

Our daycare celebrated Week of the Young Child last week and Thursday night there was a family fun night. I have been wanting to post this since that night, but have also dreaded loading the pictures and getting this typed, since this post is going to be so long. We took over 100 pictures that night (don't worry, I did edit them and wont show you everything!). The event was moved indoors because of the rain, but the center was decorated so cute. Along the hallway were pictures of all the kids, so it was fun looking through them and finding Reegan! Next was dinner. Pizza...Reegan doesn't eat pizza, but we let her chew on the crust a little too soothe her aching gums. We fed her before we went, so she wasn't starving.
I was so excited they had the Easter bunny there. Reegan did great with Santa, so we hoped she would do OK with the Easter bunny. She watched the other kids...
Did OK up close
Even gave the Easter Bunny a high-fiveSitting on his lap was another story...

After the traumatizing Easter Bunny experience, we went outside to find Easter Eggs. It took her a little while to figure out she was supposed to look for the eggs and then pick them up. (We are still figuring this camera out, so our outdoor shots are a little blue).

After putting that first one in the bag, she was hooked...

We had a hard time bringing her inside for the rest of the activities because all she wanted to do was play outside!
Next stop was the "pond." The kids were to pick a duck and the number on the bottom coorelated to a prize. She won a purple necklace.

Problem was, she didn't want to just pick one duck, she wanted them all.

Reegan then finger painted with pudding.

We dug through a basket of "grass" for another prize. Reegan was not as excited with the feel of the grass as she was with pudding and water.

There were many more activities that Reegan was too young to participate in, but it was a great time. We are so blessed to have such a great daycare and Reegan loves it SO much. She walked around very confidently and wasn't even concerned if she couldn't see us.

We need to work on that...
