Clue, Colton, and Kenny

That is how we spent the weekend!!!

It started Friday night, we went to dinner with David and Rachel and then they came to our house afterward for a serious game of Clue.  I am obsessed with this game!  Love it!

Saturday morning, I had to work at the hospital, so Jason and Reegan had a fun day together.  The day included a birthday party for another little one, Colton turned 1!  Colton had a cute, little tailgating chair that Reegan decided she loved!

According to Sterling (Colton's dad), these two may find themselves in an arranged marriage one day...

Birthday Boy!  Look at those cheeks, how cute is he?

Saturday night, we went to the Kenny Chesney Concert!  Thanks for the tickets Lisa and Dalton, we had fun with you!  It was SO hot, besides that it was a great night.

View from our seats...

We didn't get there in time to see Uncle Cracker (I'm OK with that, he's not my favorite...), Billy Currington was next.  He sounds great in person, just like the radio version.

I was probably most excited to see the Zach Brown Band and they met all expectations.  They were SO good.

This was our 3rd time seeing Kenny in concert and like always, he put on a fabulous show.  High energy with fun songs throughout the entire 2 1/2 hour show!

The encore was Kenny and Zach Brown together.  Couldn't get any better...

This coming week is my last week of classes and at the hospital!  I am so excited for the next phase of life to begin and not have to worry about studying so much.  The next few weeks are going to be filled with studying for the NCLEX, applying for jobs, doing things around the house, and most importantly spending some additional time with my baby!  I am excited to spend more time with her!

An Artist in the Making

After brunch with my family and a nap, we spent some time Saturday afternoon working on our "art".  Reegan has started showing interest in coloring, so we bought some crayons and a large pad of paper.  And she was off...

Hmmm...what color to use next??

I imagine this is how every artist looks while hard at work!  Look at the concentration...

She was very "intense" while creating her artwork.  Just look at that face!

And of course every artist needs ample space to create in...

A Lazy Summer??

With the extreme heat we've had around here lately, it seems the best thing to do would be to stay inside and be lazy.  While that sounds fantastic in theory, it's not even close to what we've been doing.  It seems we've been on the go non-stop and yet we haven't really done much worthy of "blog photo" status.  But, we know all of you need your regular dose of cuteness from our baby girl (maybe it's just us who can't get enough... :), so hopefully this will help cure whatever ails you and at least give you a little smile.

The other day when I picked Reegan up from daycare, she had a new hair-do!  All of the little girls in her room got pony tails done by their teacher.  It looks so stinkin' cute I can't stand it!!

This is definitely going to start being a regular part of the getting ready process for this cutie.  :)

And we noticed it's been a LONG time since we've posted any videos, so here are a couple we think are cute...

Reegan loves to stand on this step stool.  We got it for her to use once she's big enough to use the sink and brush her teeth, but she loves to climb on it and stand up tall and...well, you'll see...

Reegan also loves to dance!  Her favorite music lately has been from this show on Nick Jr. called the Fresh Beat Band.  It's really the only kids show/cartoon she actually gets really into.  She just loves to dance to the music.  :)

Crown Center

Family Fun Day- Part 2

I had to work (for free) at the hospital Sat and Sun, so Friday Jason took off work so we could spend some family time together.  We decided to spend the afternoon at Crown Center.  It started off in the free rainforest exhibit.  It was neat, but would have been better if Reegan was a little older.  There were a few activities for her to enjoy.  As always, tunnels are a favorite.  She crawled back and forth a couple dozen times and stopped to look at the artwork on the walls each trip.

This is the classic Reegan smile.  Whenever we pull out the camera this is the face she makes!  We started a while ago calling it her cheesy smile and now whenever anyone says cheese, this is it!  I hope I never forget this face, it is my favorite!!!

Taking time to read about the rainforest plants!

As we walked around Crown Center, we found the Crayola Store.  We've been working with Reegan for a while on writing her name, she did a great job right?...just kidding!

Hard at work!  She was very disappointed/mad when we made her leave and go to dinner.

We went to Fritz's for dinner.  Both Jason and I have been here before, but it has many years.  We hoped that Reegan would be entertained by the trains and she was!

Cheesy grin for the train moving on the track above the table.

I know this picture is really blurry, but it was hard to get a picture as the train quickly moved past our table.

This was the girl's reaction every lap it took.  (that is ketchup on her face, she loves to dip anything and everything and ended up with ketchup all over)!

We will definitely be going back to Fritz's, it was a lot of fun.

Last stop was the fountains.  Reegan reacted the way we expected and just kinda looked around for the majority of the time.

She did venture close to the water and splashed around!

We had so much fun and I can't wait until the next Family Fun Day!

Family Fun Time

It's been a busy couple of days around here.  We've also gotten to have a ton of fun!  It started on Wednesday night for me when I got to go the Sporting KC soccer game with my brother.  They've got a brand new stadium that is really, really nice.  It was cool to see it in person for the first time.  Plus, the tickets were FREE!!!  I won them from the local sports radio station 610!

It was also a great chance to put our camera to the test in taking some action shots.

The game ended in a 1-1 tie, but it was full of action and excitement.  I would definitely go to another game.

Then on Thursday afternoon, we headed out for a little family time over at Deanna Rose Farmstead.  This was Reegan's first official trip to the farmstead and we were really excited to see how she would react to all of the animals.  Well...let's just say she preferred to give them their personal space.  ;)  She wouldn't go near any of them unless we were holding her, and even then she was extremely weary of them.  So maybe she isn't exactly an animal lover just yet, but we'll keep trying.

She did, however, LOVE the garden area!!  She had a blast running around and she was so funny with these cut-outs.  She has been such a ham lately and we cannot get enough of this cheesy grin!!!!

Isn't she the cutest little flower you've ever seen?!

They also had several of these benches around the farm.  Reegan had to climb onto every single one, sit down, and then climb down.  So funny...

Then it was off to the playground!  First the swing...she's starting to warm up to the swing more and more each time.

And of course we made many trips down the slides too.  :)

Finally, Reegan went home with Grammie, and we headed out to the Royals game.  It was a great game, but the Royals lost 3-1.  We did get to see most of the rookie stars in action though.  Mike Moustakas...

...Eric Hosmer (1st base), and Danny Duffy (Pitcher).  Hopefully these guys are the ones who finally get the Royals on the winning track!

Today is another Family Fun Day!  We're waiting for Reegan to wake up from her nap and then it's off to Crown Center to play in the fountains and do some other fun activities.  I couldn't think of any better way to celebrate our 5th Anniversary!!  Happy 5 years to us!!
