Harvest Time

The past few years Jason and I have planted a couple vegetable plants with success, and this year we (Jason) built a whole garden box and filled it with all sorts of yummys.  Right now we have an abundance of tomatoes and potatoes.  This was our first year for potatoes and the main reason we chose this was how much fun Reegan would have harvesting them.

She loves it, gets her gloves on and prefers the hand digging method over the typical shovel method.

Gavin did not see the joy in sitting outside on the grass, he would much rather be spending his time indoors seeing what boundaries he can stretch.
I think we're getting the hang of this gardening thing.  Struggling a little with the peppers, but loving the lettuce, peas, and green beans.  Not loving the nest of baby bunnies that have made their home under the tomato plants.   Dogs + bunnies = not good.

Soccer

We signed Reegan up for a summer session of Me and Mini Me soccer.  I can't say she loves it...yet.  We're working on it.  Our girl is not very aggressive and very timid around a new people.

My dad has been at each session and is great at giving her pointers.  He has played soccer his whole life and still plays on a weekly soccer league.

I think Reegan's favorite time is the water break.  Sister doesn't miss an opportunity for something to drink.

We have one more week to go.  Hopefully we can keep her excited about it until next spring when we do it all again.  I love that she's open to trying new things, even if it takes a little extra persuading on our part, and I love that we are able to give her these opportunities!

The Big Party

Gavin went and turned one.  I tried to stop him and keep him my little baby, but he didn't listen and keeps on growing.  We threw a little bbq/pool party for his big day.

Our back yard was turned into a water park with 2 baby pools. water table, playhouse, and slide.
We're so blessed our family lives close so we had friends and family present.

Gavin loved his little cake.  He was more reserved than I expected him to be, but he got the hang of it.

We loved celebrating our little man.  He's perfect and we love everyday!
Later it was present time.  Gavin was spoiled!  But you only turn 1 once, right?

He's One!

Yes.  It's true.  Gavin is ONE.  How the heck did a whole year go by already?!  He's growing so fast and moving so fast and learning so fast.  Slow down bud!  You've got plenty of time for all of this.

Gavin has been Mr. Personality lately.  He is getting really good at imitating faces that we make and he is usually just non-stop noise/talking.  He still only says "mama" for now, but man, he sure does have a lot to say! :)

Gavin has the most adorable face too.  That boy just has to look at you with that grin and you're in trouble.  Putty in his hands I tell you...

Like I said, he's a fast mover.  Still prefering to crawl most of the time.  HOWEVER, he has been taking some steps!!!  So far his best effort is about 8-9 steps.  His biggest trouble at this point is not necessarily keeping his balance, but it's that he thinks the idea of walking is so dang hilarious.  He takes a couple steps and then starts cracking up, which ultimately throws him off balance and down he goes.  :)

He went Friday for his 1-year checkup at the doc so here's the stats: 21 lbs., 9 oz. (35th %); 31 inches tall (85th %).

We also threw him a backyard BBQ/pool party over the weekend, so stay tuned for that.  It was a blast!
