I haven't done a great lately of documenting our everyday.  We've done lots of fun things outside the home, but I want to make sure I remember these day-to-day moments as well.

Gavin is the funniest thing.  He is sweet and loving one minute and then wild and into everything the next.  He wants to be a part of everything.  Including laundry folding.

My 2 loves.  They are each other's favorite people and I couldn't be happier.  In the mornings Reegan will walk right past me to give Gavin a hug.  If I can't get Gavin to do something, Reegan steps in and he listens.  Most of the time they are buddies.

This fall has been perfect!  Every evening just about we are outside.  Outside at the park, taking a walk, playing, eating picnics.  Sometime if we're really lucky we can convince the kids its fun to help us with our chores too.

Gavin loves to be outdoors more than anyone and can often be found throwing a huge tantrum when its time to come inside.

Rest and Relaxation

Jason attends a conference every year for work and this year it ended up in San Francisco - one of the places we have been longing to visit.  I met him down there on Friday after he was done with work stuff.
My flight was 2 hours late getting in so we didn't have time for much besides sightseeing on our way to dinner.
Saturday morning we woke up to an overcast, cool day.
We set out to see the town
and it started pouring.  Our sightseeing had more indoor stops than we expected so we could dry out.
The locals all told us it never rains in September...hmmm.  By lunch time the rain had moved on and the sun came out.
We rode the cable cars like every other tourist who visits!

Drove the curviest street in the US
Then finished the day by walking across the Golden Gate Bridge.
Sunday morning we went to breakfast at the greatest cafĂ©!  They are known for their Irish coffees and they did not disappoint.  They also have family style eating, so we ate breakfast with a couple from Northern Ireland on their honeymoon and 3 men from Fresno in town to watch the football game.
 Then to Alcatraz Island

We also happened to see some of the America's Cup races.
Lots and lots of seafood was enjoyed
Monday we spent the day in Napa sampling some wineries.

This was a much needed getaway, it has been far too long since Jason and I had a vacation the 2 of us.  How nice it was to pick out places to eat without questioning what the kids were going to eat,  hold hands with each other, and not have to take a break in the middle of the day for naps.  We are looking forward to going back and seeing even more.  4 days was not enough time!

Airplanes

Jason gets a Saturday every 3 weeks of some extra special time with the kids while I recover and prepare for the weekend night shift working.  I'm envious of the fun they get to have, but am so thankful for this time they get to nurture their relationship without my opinions and commentary.
Last Saturday he took the kids to the Olathe Executive Airport to watch the plans take off and eat lunch. An added bonus for my non-planning (he calls it spontaneous) husband is that they were having an airshow.
And yes, Gavin climbs on everything, always
Jason's grandfather loves to fly, Jason's dad loved to fly and used to take Jason to this same airport as a kid many Saturday mornings.  Jason loves planes and flying and has looked forward to the day when history could repeat itself and he could bring his kids to this very place.

The kids loved it.  Jason loved it.  I loved it, because the house was quiet for a couple hours and I got to sleep! Win, win, win.
I expect there will be many trips in the near future!

Videos

First video is of Gavin showing us what he knows how to do.  He is very independent and if he's not interested in showing you he doesn't, no persuasion.  Here is a video of Reegan at about the same age doing the same sort of thing

Reegan is amazing us everyday, her memory is very impressive.  Honestly, I really don't like this book, It is just another reminder to me that time is fleeting,.

The Farmstead

Our summertime favorite is Deanna Rose Farmstead.  We spend a morning at least once a week walking around and this summer Reegan has been on baby cow watch.  One of the cows was due to have a baby in August and all summer she has asked to see if the brown cow had its baby.  This week we saw it! And, Reegan and the other kids got to help feed the baby its bottle.  She was in heaven.

A few weeks ago Jason got to join us and we spent a Saturday morning walking around with Reegan showing us the animals.  This was before we left.  This girl is so big and so cute.  She always crosses her ankles!

It was safety day at the farmstead and they had fire trucks, ambulances, and a helicopter for the kids to climb in.

Jason loves all things that fly and I think he was just as excited as the kids.

After the helicopter took off Reegan went on her very first pony ride.

The weather had been cooling off this week and we have been soaking it up.  Evening walks and park excursions are exactly what we need before things turn cold.

Preschool

Reegan grew up.  I've tried to stop it from happening, but she did it.  This week she started preschool.

Its really hard to see, but she wrote preschool on her whiteboard all by herself.  I tell her the letter and she knows how to write it.  I don't know how or when this happened.
She loves it, we got out of the car and she practically ran in the church.  Reegan loves her packpack as she calls it and gets to take her lunch on Thursday's which adds to the excitement.
 A close up!

Here she is telling you all about it prior to her second day!
