Bike riding

A few months ago, Jason and Reegan decided this would be the summer that Reegan would learn how to ride her bike with no training wheels. In true Reegan fashion, once she decided she was ready, she picked it up in 3 practices. We still need to work on the starting and stopping a little but that will come with time.

 We walked deep in our neighborhood to the elementary school and had a ton of room to practice.

Gavin has a balance bike that he doesn't use correctly and for the life of us, we can't figure out the best way to help him learn.  It was good time for him to practice too.

The night we went out was the most perfect evening. Nice and cool and a great time for a couple shots of all the kids together.

More lately

My precious three on July 4th, getting ready for the  neighborhood bike parade.

 The big kids love being outside and now that Emerson is having more and more awake time it was time to break out her swing so she can play with us.

Now

I think this has been the most uneventful summer we have had in a long time. Not sure if its because of all the rain we've had or the fact that we have an additional precious little baby with us. Either way, I haven't taken as many pictures as normal. Here are a few pictures I actually did take!

 Our morning walk took us to price chopper and we ended up with donuts for the kids and coffee for me!

 Pool days, the water has been COLD. Emerson and I spend most of our time in the shade.

Gavin Scott - 3 years

A special little boy turned 3 years old. We had a little party at home with family the weekend before  and per Gavin's request, it was spiderman theme.

Jason decorated this cake and I was blown away with it. It was perfect. A spider web with GAVIN in it.

I think his favorite part of the whole day was when we sang happy birthday to him. We sang two times this night and he loved blowing out the candles.

On the day of Gavin's actual birthday, June 26. Cupcakes and more signing!

Fun facts about Gavin:
1. He is my early riser. I hear him get out and bed and when I look out of my door, I see him standing in his doorway looking at me. He then comes running into my room and climbs into bed with me and asks to watch PBS
2. He has the fattest feet- flip flop sandles do not fit. Not even close. I finally found some sandles with 2 straps that will work. They are as tall as they are wide.
3. Loves making us laugh. If it causes a laugh, he will do it again and again and again.
4. Says a ton of words, big words even, but its not always easy to understand him. Reegan is often our interpreter. If we are struggling to understand she will tell us what he is saying.
5. Jumps- all the time. Off furniture (even though he knows he is not supposed to), everything and everywhere.
6. Will do/play with whatever Reegan wants to play with (most of the time).
7.  Requests Chick-fil-a for lunch whenever I ask him what he wants to do that day.
8. Loves spiderman and dinosaurs
9. Can count to 39, skipping a few numbers here and there. Knows his ABC's, loves to read and can recognize all his letters and most numbers 1-20.
10. Is so excited about going to preschool next year (talks about it multiple times a week), but will cry and throw a huge fit when the day comes to drop him off and I leave (he is a momma's boy)
11. Is huge!!!! 36 pounds (86%ile) and 40 inches (95%ile)
12. Is the best brother! Love Reegan and Emerson and tells them often. He loves to hold the baby, kiss her and hug her and wants to play with Reegan always.
13. He is very sensitive. If you look at him too sternly or raise your voice he will often burst into tears. If Reegan doesn't want to play with him or we don't let him hold the baby I can see the sadness in his eyes.
14. The sweetest little guy. Gives us kisses and hugs and loves taking naps with me.
15. Twirls his hair. Always when he is tired and many other times during the day as well.

Emerson Jaye 3 1/2 months

I went to change another diaper the other day and was blown away by Emerson's rolls. She is no longer my teeny, tiny baby and instead growing and becoming stronger in front of my eyes. While she was stripped down we did a little photo shoot to show off those rolls.

 Her smile, with and without the tongue, is my most favorite. And she offers those smiles easily and often!

We love this little girl and time is passing too quickly. I'm trying to remember and enjoy every minute that I can!

3 Months

Emerson was not overly cooperative for her 3 month photos. She is normally so happy and smiley, but some days she just isn't feeling it. This was one of those days.

 She is still fairly weak and can hold her head up for a bit, but tires easily. I blame this on the fact that she sleeps all the time! We are starting to see a routine and more awake times. Now if only we could put the girl down for some tummy time maybe she would gain some strength and start enjoying it.

She has not rolled over but is starting to think about it. She throws her legs over to the side when on her back, but always gets stuck on her arm. On her tummy, she buries her face into the ground and pretty much refuses to do more than a minute of tummy time.

Emerson is currently wearing size 1 diapers (we're moving up to size 2 after we finish this box). wears some 0-3 month clothing, 3 month clothing and occasional 3-6 months.

Reegan and Gavin love her! They talk to her, play with her and argue over who gets to hold her. Emerson loves them just the same, she smiles at them and will watch them play. I know all 3 of them are excited for the time when all of them can sit together, talk and play.

Emerson has started to play with her tongue which has resulted in a lot of smiles with the tongue sticking out and a lot more drool. She has also found her voice and coos a lot, more than I remember the other kids doing. I think she just wants to be heard with all the loudness at our house.

Sister has got rolls! She obviously is packing on the pounds but this surprises me because she rarely ever fusses for food. I am usually the one to remind her its time to eat. She only eats maybe 6 times a day.

A typical day:

Wakes up for the day between 7:30 and 8:30, eats. Is awake for 60-90 minutes before going back to sleep for her morning nap. While awake she does some time on her playmat, sits with Reegan and Gavin, will sit in her swing while I make breakfast, and talks to us while smiling. She sleeps off and on all morning. I will feed her some point, usually around 10:30 or 11. From 12-1, she is awake again for more "play time". At 1, I will swaddle her and nurse her again and she sleeps until close to 5. She feeds again and is awake for most of the evening. She will usually have a little cat nap around 7, but is ready to be swaddled and go to bed around 8-8:30. Most nights she wakes up to eat any where from 5-6:30 but then goes back to sleep until the big kids start waking up and she is ready for the day.

I cannot imagine there being a better behaved baby. She is so sweet, smiley and doesn't whine/cry about anything. She is absolutely perfect for our family!

Pretty baby

Emerson is a doll baby, smiles all the time and is so content. She rarely cries or fusses and just goes with the flow. She is 3 months old today, and more updates to come with pictures later!

We've had a ton of rain lately, so when we need to get out of the house we head to chick fil a for lunch and playtime!

Emerson has the traditional bald spot and now she looks like she has old man hair. Thick and kinda long on the back/bottom and thin, almost bald on the top!

We are not very consistant with tummy time this time around. Emerson is either asleep or just ate, so it doesn't happen as often as it probably should. Even without, she is getting stronger everyday!

Baby wearing always wins! She falls alseep within minutes, just like Gavin used to do!

Jason and Reegan went to the baseball game one Saturday evening so I had an evening home alone with the two little ones. Emerson fell asleep and Gavin and I decided we needed some ice cream. Off we went in our pj's.
