Weekend

This weekend was one to remember. The weather was perfect and we were in much need of some family time. We started Saturday with yard work and small projects around the house. Including multiple loads of laundry (how do these little people dirty so many clothes???).

We then went downtown to a fun little crepe place for lunch followed by an afternoon at Loose park. They had a swing set, many slides and more. We then walked around the park until we found a wonderful spot in the shade where the kids could run, "hide" behind trees, eat a snack on the blanket, and more. The big kids were excited to take off their shoes and be barefoot in the grass.
 Her form is perfect!

All this running resulted in all 3 kids taking a nap on the drive home!

Emerson's face here! She is such a ham!!!

Sunday we started the morning at the Trolley Run with my dad. My mom brought the kids and they all waited for us at the finish line! We followed that with breakfast at Beer Kitchen then home for more laundry (seriously...), more yard work, a couple of errands, and a short nap by most of us. Tomorrow we are back to the grind of life, but we are feeling refreshed after a wonderful, full weekend.

Random

My 3 sweet kids. I just love them so much. And I know I am biased but I think someone should sign them up with some modeling contracts pronto!
Baby girl was able to join us on her bike for outside time. Also her first time wearing shoes.
Jason and I were able to slip away for a night and go to the Royals game. We ate cheese fries and they won so it was a successful and fun night!
This boy is so goofy and everytime I pull out the camera this is the face he makes...
Gavin had parent day at school and wanted to show Jason around. He was so proud to show off his art work and his normal routine of the day.
I was fortunate enough to go on a fieldtrip with Reegan. Coterie theater "Where the Wild Things are", lunch and Kaleidoscope. Reegan and her besties.
 The entire class.
 Working hard making puzzles
Gavin asked if he could go play outside by himself while the baby slept. I can't believe how big that boy is getting. I watched from inside while I cleaned the house.
These 2 have so much fun together, most of the time, and while they drive each other crazy they love to be near each other.
Spring has arrived and I am so excited for the school year to be over. We are ready for even more outdoor time and lots of fun with no set daily schedule!!!

tubes

Last Friday (on Emerson's 13month "birthday") we went to the hospital day surgery center and had tubes put in her ear. Since halloween she has had 5 ear infections and been on countless antibiotics. It was time. Even though we had been down this road twice with Reegan it didn't make it any easier this go around. Emerson did great and was a champ.

The little gown was so cute!
We were at the hospital for less than 2 hours, everything went well and she even fell asleep on the ride home and continued to sleep for 2 more hours. Once she woke up she was back to her sweet self.

Spring

Kansas is having some crazy spring weather so far, today was snowing in the morning, but the afternoon was fairly mild.  We have been lucky and the last couple of weeks we have had some great weather. I absolutely love spring. I love the flowers, going for long walks, running, iced coffee, playgrounds, and the sun. I love it all, except for spring storms because I am always convinced we are going to get caught in a tornado, but otherwise I love it all!

This baby loves to swing.
Gavin put them in this position then requested that I take a "cute picture".
Family walk to the park nearby. Baby loves being like the big kids.

Reegan took this one lazy morning at home and I kinda love it.
Skate party at school. Jason took Reegan and they had a great time!
Batman had a long day and was ready for a nap.
Park and picnic to start our spring break.
I got this picture sent to me while I was at work one night. Oh I hate leaving those faces to go to work, but I know the time they have together is special.
 My sweet girls
Science city to end our Spring break.
 More science city...
 And more science city
These 2 can be so sweet to each other sometimes. We were walking home from the park and they were holding hands and walking with their arms around each other. Melts my heart.

Gavin requested to hold the baby during her nap time so he could watch Daniel Tiger's neighborhood.
Free ice cream day at Dairy Queen
 Last Wednesday at the zoo
Emerson has been so silly lately. Crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything. She was pressing her face against the glass and laughing this day.
We're looking forward to more Spring like days around here and spending lots of time outdoors.

One

I'm not quite sure where the last year went but my baby is now 1. Fastest year of my life!!! Emerson continues to be such a blessing to us and is easily the best baby. She is so sweet and patient, gives the best smiles and we are completely smitten with her!

Some Emerson info:
-18 pounds 14 ounces- 15%ile
-29 inches tall- 55%ile
-Head is 17  inches around- 21 %ile
-Not walking, but crawls really fast, pulls up on furniture, cruises with her walker toys and doesn't    seem to show much interest in walking because she can get everywhere she needs to go
-loves the stairs and is great at going up them
-give us kisses, high-fives, waves, claps and tells us all done with sign languange
-loves remotes, cell phones, and the big kids toys and gets mad when we take them away
-likes to play on her own. Favorites include emptying drawers, removing book marks from books we are currently reading, pulling magnets off the fridge, and whatever else she can get her hands on
-naps morning for 45min or so and afternoon for 45min-1.5 hours.
-loves sneaking into her brother and sisters room and playing with their toys
-nursing 5 times a day still
-loves to eat but is particular about what she eat. Loves fruit, cheese, lunch meat, pasta, yogurt melts the best. Tolerates veggies, yogurt, and anything new. Struggles with meat.
-says mama, oh no, hi and has said dada once but wont repeat it.
-Gets so excited to see us when we come home and when the kids wake up in the morning. Big smiles, squeals and kisses!

March 8- we went to celebrate with Mexican food. and finished with a cupcake at our house. She refused the cupcake. See the frosting on her face? That was from me trying to coax her to eat some. It didn't work.
March 12 we had a small party for her with just family.
Our "theme" was pink and gold

This tutu and onsie were home-made. I'm pretty proud of myself.

 Emerson's smash cake
Not going to play along with me.
I broke it in half and I think she was just teasing me here...
And she didn't take a bite of this one either. Maybe thats why she is so little. Such a stinker.

We had a great time celebrating this little one. Emerson, this year with you has been a blast, we love you and look forward to seeing what and who you become in the future!!!!
