Changes

This summer we have gone through a wide range of changes. For starters Jessica has decided to go back to school and get a degree in nursing (hopefully). She has decided to attend the Research College of Nursing, however so has everyone else in the Kansas City area. This year twice as many people applied for the same 80 spots as previous years. She will find out within one month if she was accepted to the program.

Another HUGE change in our life, we are expecting a baby!! We could not be more excited, anxious and somewhat scared all at the same time. Jess is about 12 weeks along now and our due-date is February 12th. When we first found out, we wanted to make sure that we were actually right. So...several tests later, we were much more confident. Yes, the below picture does show 3 positive tests!! And we still went to the doctor and made them confirm it too! :) You all can be sure to expect many, many more updates on the progress of this exciting development.

Grand Cayman

How sad is it that that 2+ months after going on our cruise, we are still posting about it! Oh well, it is a lot of fun going through the pictures and thinking about all of the fun times we had.

In Grand Cayman we went on a trip to Sting Ray city. It was amazing, we took a boat about an hour from shore to a sand bar that hundreds of Sting Rays live on. Wow, it was one of the best experiences ever!

We booked this little adventure through a group called Captain Marvin's. (We were referred to them by some friends from church) We would definitely HIGHLY recommend booking with these folks if you ever get the chance to go to Grand Cayman. Ok, enough of that...here's some pics. :)

You might be asking yourself - "Why would the Heines take a random picture of some really old guy in a Florida Marlins hat and sitting on a cooler?" Well this just happens to be Captain Marvin himself! We literally hopped on his boat right at his house and ventured off to see the rays.

All of the guys were definitely ready for a some stingrays!

No trip to any island would be complete without a trip to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville! While Jess sipped on a refreshing margarita, Jason tried a Jimmy Buffet classic - the "Loaded Landshark." It's a Landshark beer (made by Margaritaville brewery) topped with a shot of tequila. Quite tasty indeed. One other small disclaimer...this stop was made AFTER the swimming/snorkeling. :)

Here's the cool part...we're in the middle of the water surrounded by stingrays! We even got to hold one and give it a kiss! We were told that it is supposed to bring good luck. :)

These things were huge! Apparently the females get to be about 4-5 feet wide, but the males are only 1-2 feet wide...interesting I thought.

A couple nice pics of me and Jess on the ship. The view from the very front of the ship was breathtaking. :)

Here is another of us lying be the pool, doesn't it look miserable? :)

Beautiful Labadee, Haiti

Our first stop on the trip was Labadee, Haiti. We were a little nervous about going to Haiti, because we have heard that it is not the safest area, but to our pleasant surprise Labadee is a portion of the island that Royal Caribbean owns, so we had the place to ourselves. It was absolutely gorgeous. We were all a little pink from the day before of being in the sun, so we used this time to stay in the shade on hammocks. It was perfect. very relaxing and nothing like it. We did spend a little time exploring and WOW, I could have spent 3 days there doing nothing, but relaxing.
