We're Ba-aack!!

We're back.  It's been a little while since we've updated and that was because we have been in New Mexico visiting family.  We got in this afternoon and are now trying to catch up.  Stay tuned for pics and stories of how we spent the last 5 days.

I'll leave you with this.  This past Tuesday, I sat for the boards and PASSED!  It is official, I am RN, BSN.  I found out the results on Wednesday and my license was in the mail when we returned home today!  Now, I just need to get the job thing figured out.

Decorating

A few weeks ago I told you all that we were doing some redecorating.  We showed you pics of the book shelves we got and how we rearranged the room.  The couch we ordered at that time finally came in yesterday.  Jason and I were really nervous about how it was going to look.  Since it was custom ordered, we were only able to see the fabric in a very small sample and were afraid we wouldn't like it enlarged.  It's here and we LOVE it!  I think its perfect.  The next step is repainting!
Also one month ago, my Nana sent us these wonderful painting to hang in our dining room.  She painted them herself and we think they are beautiful.  They look wonderful in our dining room!
I think Jason loves having me home and done with school (sarcasm) because now I can focus all of my energy on projects and changes around the house!

water fun!

Here are some pics from a couple of different events this summer that all revolve around water.  First: we went to Black Bob Bay with our friends Jana and Matt for some pool time.  Jana and I walked the rapids while the hubs and kids played.  First, we went tubbing for a little bit.  Reegan wasn't sure what she thought of the life-jacket at first, but she came around.
They had a couple of slides, Reegan went down one and then decided that she would rather just climb up and down the stairs.
Always a favorite...whats not to love?

Next was the baby pool with my aunt and cousin.
Reegan loved these balls and kept throwing them for Dalton to chase after!  I don't think he minded too much.
Another water fun day was with my friends Allison and Annie, and Reegan's friend Ellie.  They enjoyed splashing around and dumping water on our feet to cool us off!
Hard at work!
Summer is quickly coming to an end and we're trying to squeeze in anytime we can to enjoy the warm weather.  Pool, here we come!

Surprise!!!

Friday night, Jason planned a surprise celebration get together for me and being done with school!  It was very nice, he invited many of our friends and amazingly many people were able to make it!

Reegan even had a couple of her friends there.
A shot of our group!
Even Collin, the adorable sleeping baby enjoyed himself!
I think Jason and Reegan were very pleased with themselves...
A shot of another table

Thank you Jason for planning such a great get together!  Thank you friends for fitting this into your busy schedule and making me feel so loved!  Thank you Reegan for being incredibly well behaved and not minding that we kept you up way past your bedtime!

New Do

It must have been a great nap, because I am not sure how this happened!

playing catch-up

I'm a little behind in my posting, so this week will be catch-up.  Thats good news for you, means a lot of posts.

This past week we met up with Jana and Cade for long over due play time and catch-up chat session.  We met at a church that has an indoor coffee shop and play area.  It was the first nice day and it was late afternoon so we were the only ones there.  I have a feeling we may be frequenting this place as well as the mall playplace often come winter.
Slides are always a favorite!
We didn't make it into the gym to see what was there, we stayed in the playroom the whole time.  There was one big piece of equipment that had a ladder, slide, tunnel, etc.  Then another, bigger slide, couple of rocking horses, play house, and cars.

Cade is taking Reegan out in his "car"...or "pirate ship"
Does it count as a date if your mom's are watching and taking pictures?
Before leaving, we went outside for some fresh air.  Right outside the church doors were this bridge and lake.
Look at that pose, she is all girl!  I love it :)

The signs of a successful playdate.
Thanks Jana and Cade, we look forward to playing again soon!

18 Months!

It's true...Reegan is 18 months today.  It seems that she has been a part of our life forever, I have trouble remembering how we spent our days before her.  She is no longer our little baby and has developed her own little personality, the perfect combination of sweet/loving and spunky/strong-willed.
Reegan loves to cuddle and is very loving.  She gives us kisses and hugs all the time.  Every morning and night (often during the day too) she sits on our laps, drinking her milk and snuggling.  I have taught her "nosey kisses", I think most people call them eskimo kisses (at least thats what we called them growing up).  She also likes to point out facial features: nose, eyes, hair, etc.
Reegan seems to know what she wants and makes sure to tell us.  She stomps her feet and whines when we don't give her something that she wants and throws her head back and cries when we take something away from her.
She has started using so many words. I started a list, but everyday we are adding to that list. Her favorite words are: mommy, dada, dog, ball, papa, nose, toes, shoes (loves to wear shoes, even with her pj's), kitty, buh bye, snack, pretty (says it whenever I put her in a dress or I wear a dress), wawa (water), and poo poo (yep, she tells us when she's pooped, even though we usually already know). It is amazing to see her mind at work, I can't believe all of the things she is able to say and understand.
You can probably tell by her belly :) but Reegan is still a pretty good eater.  She is becoming more and more picky, but we're working through it.  She is not much of a meat eater, but will eat just about all fruit and dairy products. It is a struggle to get her to try something new (or an old favorite if its packaged different), but usually once she tries it she likes it.  Doesn't drink any juice and is a great water drinker!
Reegan likes to watch Seasame Street and Fresh Beat Band (yes, I know by heart all of the songs...).  However, her favorite activity is being outside.  She loves to sit in the stroller and go for walks or runs and points out trees and cars...but her favorite is playing at a park or in our driveway.
Her favorite inside activity is reading books. She gets a book off the shelf, sits in our lap while we read, and repeats this...over and over and over. There are a few books that Jason and I would not be sad if they mysteriously ended up in the trash...really she would be happy reading the same 5 books for an hour or more. Reegan takes the shortest naps in her daycare room (this girl has never been much of a napper) and to compensate, they lay her mat by the stack of books. She goes through them each once and then she lays herself down and falls asleep. She goes through the stack again when she wakes up from her nap.

I could talk about this little one for days and days, but I'll leave it at this this. We love our little girl and our lives have been blessed and enriched by her presence. I know it's cliche, but she has made us better people and we are SO excited to see what she does and becomes in the future!

Pinning!

As of Saturday morning, I am officially done with school!  I had my pinning ceremony and was released into the real world!  This year has felt like the longest year of my life, but I am happy to be done and now bring home an additional income.

Jason was playing with some of the settings and I think this turned out pretty cool.  This is the processional when we were entering the ballroom.

Waiting to walk across the stage!

Unfortunately we don't have any pictures of this, but my Nana was able to pin me because she is a retired RN.  That made it extra special.

Reegan also got into the spirit!

The group shot.  There were 72 of us who graduated.

A couple of school friends.

Cheesy grins for both of us!

I think Jason is just as happy I am done.  The evenings of me studying while he hangs by himself are almost done.

Aunt Lisa and Nana- the three nurses in the family!

Nana and Papa who were great enough to make the trip from Portland, OR.

My parents!

Jason's family

Thank you friends and family who supported me during this crazy year!  I hope it will be a benefit to us all in the future!

She Kissed a BOY!

OH.  MY.  GOODNESS.  I can't believe this has happened already!  I thought for sure I wouldn't have to worry about this kind of thing for at least another...I don't know...10 years minimum (and that's me being "realistic").  I mean, I know the kids nowadays grow up fast and there is plenty of them kissing and such before they should be, but before she's 18 MONTHS?!?!

Okay, let me calm down a little bit and tell you what happened.  I went to pick up Reegs from daycare today.  No big deal, right?  Well when I opened the door and stepped into her room, she ran over to me as fast as she could to give me the biggest hug ever (as usual :), and as I scooped her up her teachers says to me, "So, this is probably the last thing you want to hear about your daughter's day, but..."  At this point I'm thinking what?  She threw up her lunch?  She hit another child?  Fell and hurt herself?  What??  "Reegan kissed a boy today!"  Huh?  Come again please.

The teacher tells me the story, and honestly it's one of the cutest things I've ever heard!  So, I guess Reegs and this boy, Parker, are buds already, but today they both were paying a bit of extra attention to one another.  They were playing on the tumbling mats and Parker came over to Reegan, put his arms around her little body, and they kissed!!  She said it was adorable (and I actually agree it probably was) and all day long after that, they would both come over to each other periodically for more hugs.  :)  So cute!

I love that our little baby has such a loving personality.  I really do.  But please baby, don't be kissing boys already!!  Even if it is the cutest thing ever...
