Somersaults

Here's a cute video we wanted to share!  Reegan is growing up so fast and learning so much.  She calls herself Ree-Ree and will tell us she is one when we ask.  (you'll see that at the beginning of the video).

Today we are busy with chores around the house and of course the KSU game!  Tomorrow I am working, so Jason and Reegan will get to spend a fun day together!

Sushi

Last weekend was Reegan's first night at a sushi restauant!  No, she didn't eat the sushi but she loved trying to use the chopsticks.  We went to this great restaurant that had a sushi train, carrying all of the sushi.  Reegan loved the train and would say choo-choo everytime it came around!  I love these restaurants that have food we love and some entertainment for the little one!

Fall Photos

Last weekend we got to take some family photos...finally!  We've been putting this off for way too long as well and a co-worker of Jess actually referred us to Kevin McBride.  He was fantastic!  We really love how everything turned out and would definitely recommend him to all of you.  We've "narrowed down" our favorites for this post, but trust us, we could have easily posted many, many more.  Thanks again Kevin!

Pumpkin Patch

We FINALLY made it to a pumpkin patch this year!  We have been trying to go for the past couple of weekends, but it always got pushed aside for other activities.  But today, we were determined to go, and the weather was perfect, and it was a great day.  :)

We actually decided to just go over to Deanna Rose this year.  Reegan is getting more and more comfortable with the animals there so we thought it could be fun to get two activities for the price of one (or so...they charge you separately for each part of course...).  To get to the pumpkin patch (called "Pumpkin Hollow") we got to take the horse drawn hay ride!

We had front row seats right behind the horses!

In Pumpkin Hollow they had a bunch of fun things to do.  They had a little corn maze...

A spooky tunnel...

Of course Reegan was all about the scarecrow cut-out.  (Ignore the random mom in the background...)

They had this skeeball set-up that Reegan thought was fun...altought she threw from slightly closer than she was supposed to...we allowed it.  ;)

The ring toss was a hit.  She really enjoyed this one...

Then it was on to pick our pumpkins.  You know, the real reason we actually came here anyway.  Reegan inspected each one carefully...

Made sure there wasn't an area she was missing...

And made her selection.  A fine choice!

She even carried it out herself!

Before we headed out we stopped by the BIG slide they had set up.  We actually started and ended our day with this because Reegan LOVES slides.  It was actually pretty tall and dad had to carry her up the hay bales to the top.  After that it was all her!

I think she would have been fine just going down the slide the entire time if we'd let her.  I mean, look at this face!!!

She Speaks

I love Target's dollar spot.  Every time I am there I always look for books, puzzles, toys etc.  A few months ago I bought some flash cards that have letters on one side and a pictures on the other side.  Reegan loves looking at them and naming the picture.  About a month ago, I saw they had more flashcards, so I got a different pack, sight words.  I thought they would also have pictures, but I was wrong.  Only words.  Reegan still loves them and will bring them over to us to go through with her.  Its so cute to hear her say all these words.  She is not the best communicator yet, but this probably helps!

20 Months

Someone little, now not so little, has turned 20 months old.  I haven't done the monthly updates for a while, but 20 hit me kinda hard.  That is almost 2 years....Where has the time gone?  Our lives have changed drastically and we love it (mostly :).  We are in earlier in the evenings, but we're saving money right?  Our daily plans revolve around the noon nap and we always have snacks with us!

Somedays I still think of Reegan as my little baby.  She loves to cuddle and gives hugs and kisses to us, the dogs, and her stuffed animals.  She is very sweet and loving.  Other days, I feel like she is 7 years old.  Very independent and I'm amazed at everything she is learning on a daily basis.  She wants to feed herself, bathe herself, and dress herself.  The issue is that she can't do all of those yet, so we still have to help her.

I do not know how much she weighs or how tall she is, but at our last Dr appointment she was 50%ile for both.  She does have a long torso and not as long legs (takes after me), so buying clothes for her is a complete toss-up for what size she will need.  She still has that belly that sticks out a little, which is so cute!  Reegan is a great sleeper at night, 11-12 hours and sometimes will sleep until close to 9 if we let her...naps are not as great, usually 1 1/2 hours.  I'm afraid that the naps may disappear before Jason and I are ready for them too.  I don't know if we are ever going transition her into a regular bed, because I am afraid that she will never sleep if we do.  We'll probably find her reading books to herself at 4am.

Reegan is a good eater, but we have been going through stages of her deciding that she doesn't like something that she liked 2 days earlier.  She also likes to eat things whole instead of me cutting it up.  Somethings I give-in (bananas) and others that I don't.  Reegan also has a favorite chore (is it a chore if she likes doing it?), first thing in the morning and before she will eat dinner, Reegan feeds the dogs.  She is so proud when she picks up Bella's bowl and carries it over to the food container for us to fill it up.

Reegan is a funny little thing too.  She will do something or say something and if we laugh she gets a huge grin on her face and will do it again and again.  She loves to read, draw pictures, play outside, and doing anything that will get a reaction out of us!  It's not hard to do, because everything (well most things) that she does is so cute and great!

Future Cheerleader

KSU game was on yesterday, so we had to take a break from chores and grown-up things to watch.  Reegan recieved a cheerleading outfit from my mom, so we dressed her up for the game as well.  Cutest cheerleader you've ever seen?  We think so...
She was really into it at first.  She kept looking at the TV and saying "football" (her version of football anyways).  And doing the touchdown sign.  I thought since she had the outfit on, I would get her to do a few cheerleading things...

 She tried soooo hard!
The excitment didn't last long and by the second quarter, our living room looked like this....
I think halftime was her favorite, because we took her outside to play for a while.  Yep, she is being brainwashed already!  GO CATS!

K-S-U Wildcats!!

It's taken us a couple of days to get around to this post, but this past Saturday we headed up to Manhattan for the KSU vs. Baylor game.  We were so excited to go!  We haven't been back for a game for a couple of years.  Plus we were taking our friends David and Rachel (they took us to Arkansas vs. Alabama last year) and we were pumped to get to show them K-State and the Little Apple.

We headed down early so we would have time to tour the campus a bit and check out some of the cool spots in town before we headed for the stadium to tailgate.  There we met up with Sterling and Amy and Micah and Mindy.  It was a great day for a tailgate and a football game!

The game was awesome!  The Cats pulled off an amazing come from behind 36-35 win over Baylor (who was ranked 15th).  Unbelievable!!!
It was so much fun to go to a game again.  And it was one of the more exciting games we've ever seen in person.  The Wildcats are 4-0 now and on a roll...hopefully they keep it up this week against Mizzou!!
