Week 16 update

No picture yet, but we hope to have an updated picture very soon. I feel like I have changed a lot in 2 weeks. I had my 16 week appointment this last Friday morning and it looks like everything is coming along just fine. The Dr. said the baby's heart rate was strong and sounding good. My only instruction was to get the flu shot and swine flu shot once they become available. The other exciting part was that I scheduled the date of the sonogram to determine the sex of the baby (hopefully). Come September 28th at 1:00pm we should finally know if we are having a boy or girl! It seems like most people in our lives seem to think we are having a girl, so we would like to prove them wrong. Just kidding, we would be happy with either.

As for me, I feel like over the last week or so my stomach has pushed out quit a bit. My pants are rapidly becoming almost too tight to wear, so I may have to make some new clothing purchases here in the near future. Other than that, I feel pretty good. I am tired most of the time and my lower back becomes sore very easily, but that is it. I feel blessed that I am not having any other issues. We will update soon with pictures!

14 Weeks

Here it is! The first official "baby bump" picture on the blog. :) It took a couple weeks longer than I anticipated to talk Jess into letting me take this one. But now that she's officially into her second trimester, she has finally agreed. I think she is lookin' good! Hope you all keep coming back often so you can see the progress. I know I'm excited!

Quick Update

I don't have a lot of time today, but I received a letter in the mail yesterday that I was accepted into nursing school!  Come August 2010, I will be a student at the Research College of Nursing.  It is an accelerated one year program, so I will be attending classes while doing my clinical work at the same time.  It will be a challenge, but well worth it in the long run!

Trip to Texas

Wow, it has been a busy few weeks for us! We have been busy, it seems, nearly every weekend doing something fun. The major event though took place just last weekend. We headed down to Austin, TX for the wedding of David McKinney (fellow KSU and LCA alum) and his fiance/now wife Kelly. The trip was really fun because we got to travel again with several of our closest friends. The Buchanans, Cunninghams and Bakers all made the trip with us. For Jess and me it was the first time either of us had been to Austin, so there were some new things for us to experience. We got to drive around the Texas University campus and we also checked out a little bit of the Sixth Street district (supposedly the "hot spot" downtown). The wedding capped it all off and we all had a blast dancing the night away!

They say everything is bigger in Texas, and they were right! This just one end of the UT football stadium! It puts KSU to shame. :(

Congrats again David and Kelly!! We were so glad we got to be a part of your big day!
