Week of the Young Child

Our daycare celebrated Week of the Young Child last week and Thursday night there was a family fun night. I have been wanting to post this since that night, but have also dreaded loading the pictures and getting this typed, since this post is going to be so long. We took over 100 pictures that night (don't worry, I did edit them and wont show you everything!). The event was moved indoors because of the rain, but the center was decorated so cute. Along the hallway were pictures of all the kids, so it was fun looking through them and finding Reegan! Next was dinner. Pizza...Reegan doesn't eat pizza, but we let her chew on the crust a little too soothe her aching gums. We fed her before we went, so she wasn't starving.
I was so excited they had the Easter bunny there. Reegan did great with Santa, so we hoped she would do OK with the Easter bunny. She watched the other kids...
Did OK up close
Even gave the Easter Bunny a high-fiveSitting on his lap was another story...

After the traumatizing Easter Bunny experience, we went outside to find Easter Eggs. It took her a little while to figure out she was supposed to look for the eggs and then pick them up. (We are still figuring this camera out, so our outdoor shots are a little blue).

After putting that first one in the bag, she was hooked...

We had a hard time bringing her inside for the rest of the activities because all she wanted to do was play outside!
Next stop was the "pond." The kids were to pick a duck and the number on the bottom coorelated to a prize. She won a purple necklace.

Problem was, she didn't want to just pick one duck, she wanted them all.

Reegan then finger painted with pudding.

We dug through a basket of "grass" for another prize. Reegan was not as excited with the feel of the grass as she was with pudding and water.

There were many more activities that Reegan was too young to participate in, but it was a great time. We are so blessed to have such a great daycare and Reegan loves it SO much. She walked around very confidently and wasn't even concerned if she couldn't see us.

We need to work on that...
