One of those days...
Let me rephrase that...one of those weeks. Reegan is sick...again. What's wrong? We don't know and the Doctor doesn't know. What I do know is the meds she is getting. Eye drops, benadryl, and another round of antibiotics (ask me how I feel about that). I'll back up. Last week on Tuesday, daycare called and asked if they could give Reegan tylenol because she was a little fussy and had a low grade fever. Of course, we thought that she was teething and the temp and fussiness came along with it. Wednesday morning, the temp was a little higher so we called the Doctor to see if they needed to see her, especially since her ear tubes were not even a week old. They told us to call the ENT. We called the ENT and they told us that a low fever is common after tubes and to call the Doctor if the fever gets over 101. Thursday, the fever is 101.8, so we called the Dr. They wanted to see her and the end result was a cold with possible pink eye just coming on (here is where the eye drops come in). Side note - Reegan hates eye drops. If she even sees the bottle she starts crying. We even had the windows open this weekend, so our neighbors probably thought someone was torturing this child. I guess if you ask her, we were! That night she started laying her head down around 6:00 and I was only able to hold her off until 6:30 before she was asleep for the night. Friday morning I woke her up at 10:30, she slept 16 hours and was not happy that I woke her up!!! Friday afternoon and Saturday she started acting a little happier, so I thought the cold was over. Sunday she developed a mysterious rash that covered her whole body. It didn't seem to itch or bother her much, but it bothered me a lot. Monday she woke up and the rash was gone (WHAT?). We sent her to daycare and when we picked her up they said she was pretty fussy and not herself. This morning she woke up and her eye was swollen shut. Not from pinkeye, there was no gunk and no redness. We called the doctor again and they wanted us to bring her in. End result, they don't know whats wrong. Maybe its allergies (benadryl), maybe its a virus, maybe its a bacterial infection (antibiotics). We gave the meds this evening and we are supposed to call in the morning with a status update. Its a good thing we don't have to work or go to school and can take Reegan to the doctor every day (dripping with sarcasm). Prayers please, we're getting very frustrated and more importantly Reegan does not feel good and it shows on her face and her demeanor. We just want our smiley, happy little baby back!!
