It's true...Reegan is 18 months today. It seems that she has been a part of our life forever, I have trouble remembering how we spent our days before her. She is no longer our little baby and has developed her own little personality, the perfect combination of sweet/loving and spunky/strong-willed.
Reegan loves to cuddle and is very loving. She gives us kisses and hugs all the time. Every morning and night (often during the day too) she sits on our laps, drinking her milk and snuggling. I have taught her "nosey kisses", I think most people call them eskimo kisses (at least thats what we called them growing up). She also likes to point out facial features: nose, eyes, hair, etc.
Reegan seems to know what she wants and makes sure to tell us. She stomps her feet and whines when we don't give her something that she wants and throws her head back and cries when we take something away from her.
She has started using so many words. I started a list, but everyday we are adding to that list. Her favorite words are: mommy, dada, dog, ball, papa, nose, toes, shoes (loves to wear shoes, even with her pj's), kitty, buh bye, snack, pretty (says it whenever I put her in a dress or I wear a dress), wawa (water), and poo poo (yep, she tells us when she's pooped, even though we usually already know). It is amazing to see her mind at work, I can't believe all of the things she is able to say and understand.
You can probably tell by her belly :) but Reegan is still a pretty good eater. She is becoming more and more picky, but we're working through it. She is not much of a meat eater, but will eat just about all fruit and dairy products. It is a struggle to get her to try something new (or an old favorite if its packaged different), but usually once she tries it she likes it. Doesn't drink any juice and is a great water drinker!
Reegan likes to watch Seasame Street and Fresh Beat Band (yes, I know by heart all of the songs...). However, her favorite activity is being outside. She loves to sit in the stroller and go for walks or runs and points out trees and cars...but her favorite is playing at a park or in our driveway.
Her favorite inside activity is reading books. She gets a book off the shelf, sits in our lap while we read, and repeats this...over and over and over. There are a few books that Jason and I would not be sad if they mysteriously ended up in the trash...really she would be happy reading the same 5 books for an hour or more. Reegan takes the shortest naps in her daycare room (this girl has never been much of a napper) and to compensate, they lay her mat by the stack of books. She goes through them each once and then she lays herself down and falls asleep. She goes through the stack again when she wakes up from her nap.
I could talk about this little one for days and days, but I'll leave it at this this. We love our little girl and our lives have been blessed and enriched by her presence. I know it's cliche, but she has made us better people and we are SO excited to see what she does and becomes in the future!
