Apples

For the second year in row we made it to the apple orchard.  I did tone down the amount of apples I bought, and I have big plans for using the apples we did bring home.  This was on my must-do fall bucket list, and it didn't disappoint.

Both kids loved it and caught on quick.

Of course, sampling the apples may have been this guy's favorite part, he loves food.

After the orchard and hay ride, we came back to apple cider donuts, apple cider and a fire pit to roast marshmallows.

While out on the hay ride we ran into a friend of mine from high school church.  I think I've only seen her once or twice since I went off to college.  She was with her sister and parents.  I love this.  I love that they have kept this tradition since she was a kid.  I hope I can instill in my children the importance of family tradition like my family and Jason's family taught us.  I hope that my children want to celebrate and cherish tradition like we do.  I had such high hope for this day and this activity and it did not disappoint.

Fishing

Have I mentioned a million times that I love Deanna Rose Farmstead?  I do.  I really, really do.  Luckily for me, my kids do as well.  We go probably once a week during the spring, summer, and fall.  Once it closes for the winter, we experience some sadness and withdrawl, but are even more excited once it opens again in the spring.  Every so often Jason is able to join us out there and Reegan loves showing him around!  The last time he joined us he taught Reegan how to fish.

They didn't catch anything, but Reegan loved this time.

Here's to next Spring!

Shorts

This fall has been amazing.  I'm kinda sad that the last week the weather turned from summer to fall, but I guess it had to happen at some point.  These pictures were from a few weeks ago when shorts and tanktops were total fall apparel.

Gavin is a daredevil.  No real fear, everything that Reegan does, he also wants to do.

I found this slide at a garage sale on my way home from work one morning, it was $5.  Maybe one of the best $5 ever spent.  They have spent countless evenings climbing the ladder and sliding down.

Pumpkins

Apparently I don't blog anymore.  Sorry about that.  I've got a bunch of excuses I could use: Reegan has been staying awake until close to 10 at night (may be getting close to the end of nap time just so she'll go to sleep earlier), I have been napping a lot when the kids nap becasue I have decided I need to take better care of myself since I work night shift and lastly when I'm not napping, but the kids are I'm trying to keep our house clean and ready to show in case the call comes in (still trying to sell our house).  Either way, I guess blogging is what I chose to drop.  We've done a ton this fall already and my hope today is to get our pics loaded and ready to go.

A couple weeks ago we went to the pumpkin patch with our friends the Keeleys.  Our kids are 3 months apart (both sets) and its always fun to spend time with them.

We are blessed with many friends who have kids the same age as our kids and I'm secretly (or not so secretly) hoping I can use these pictures one day when they're dating or getting married. Also, I'm not completely opposed to the idea of arranged marriage...

KC pumpkin patch is the way to go.  They have big slides and bigger slides, hay rides, trains to ride, pits of dried corn kernels, a maze, and more.

Another one for the wedding slideshow???
As always we had fun with our friends and fun making memories.  I have so many memories of going out to the pumpkin patch with my family and finding the perfect pumpkin.  I'm excited to pass those memories to my kids.
