Sunflowers

Here they are!  Pictures from Part 3 of our weekend!
Thanks to Jessie, we learned about this great spot to take some pictures.  Reegan is becoming quite the ham in front of the camera.  Notice the many different poses of our girl!

We were not the only people who had this same idea, there were a few other families there as well.
Cutest thing ever...
Someone had a fun time out here!

I hope this will become a yearly tradition...

Cider Fest

Here's Part II of the past weekend's activities!

We made a trip down to the Louisburg Cider Mill for their annual Cider Fest.  We were really excited to take Reegan down because we'd heard there was a bunch of fun things for the little ones at this festival.  Well...kinda.  If you little one(s) is over age 3, then ya, it's great.  For us, while we had fun taking Reegan down there, she couldn't do a whole lot on her own just yet.  Regardless, we had a good time...here's some of the highlights.

They had pony rides (for $5) which Reegan really wanted to do.  She LOVES horses and kept pointing at them and shouting "Naayyyy!"  We just weren't sure she would be able to stay upright so opted to just watch the other kids.  :)

We did let her pet one of them, which she thought was pretty cool.

The one thing we did do was the "giant" inflatable slide.  They allowed me to take her on my lap, and since we know our girl loves slides, we couldn't pass this up.

She kinda looks scared, but trust me, she giggled the entire time!

See - she loved it!

One thing we had heard about the cider mill in general is their cider donuts.  They were awesome and Reegan, of course, really enjoyed them.  A very special treat for her.  :)

They had a big pile of pumpkins that we let Reegs roam around in for awhile.

Lastly, they had a few craft tents set up.  When we walked by the one with the KU and MU memorabilia, I made sure to teach Reegan that these colors and items were "very yucky."  Yes, we're definitely brainwashing her into our little KSU girl already.  Don't want to allow any bad habits to start you know...

The Cider Fest was fun, but I think waiting a year may have been a better idea.  So, next fall I'm sure we'll be back!

Part III is coming soon...don't miss it!

Plaza Art Fair

This has been a wonderfully busy weekend.  Saturday morning started with Reegan and I going to a Ladies Sunday School Brunch, while Jason helped a friend paint.  After nap time we headed to the Plaza Art Fair.  Even though we cannot afford anything, it is so much fun walking around and seeing all of the talented works.  Like always, it was very crowded,  I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I like crowds.  I like the noise and having "life" around me.  (I love Christmas Shopping in the couple of weeks before Christmas when the malls are flooded with people).
Reegan worked hard at putting her sunglasses on!
Got em...kinda
Since we were at the plaza, Reegan became very sophisticated while looking at the art...
After walking around, we headed to Tomfooleries for some dinner (and coloring).
Sunday was even more busy than Saturday was.  Stay tuned for 2 more posts about that!

Potty Time

We've added a new activity to our evening routine.  After dinner and before teeth brushing and bath, we put Reegan on the potty for a few minutes.  Our mission was to "expose" her to the little potty and then when we decided to start potty training it would be easier.  We have been pleasantly suprised that more than a couple of times she has peed in the pot.

Now, we know this doesn't mean that she is ready to start potty training, in fact, I think we're going to wait at least a few months before we even think about it when to start it, but we're happy with where we are now.  This pic is from last night.  Reegan went to the bathroom on the potty, so we cheered and made it a real big deal.  She was pretty excited with herself...

Furry Girls

Ginger and Bella!  Our first "children".  These girls had a great life (they still have a good life, but things have changed since Reegan came into the picture).  They got walks every day, we would take them in the car with us to run some basic errands, they came to family get togethers, pup cups from Dairy Queen, cuddles on the couch and frequent visits to the Dog park.  Now a days, they still get walks often, those walks are just usually shorter and a stroller comes with us!  Cuddles happen sometimes, only after Reegs has gone to bed, but usually they have to settle for a few minutes of petting.

We got Ginger almost 5 years ago and Bella 3 1/2 years ago.  We were told from the breeder that Ginger's birthday was September 3 and we were told from the animal shelter that Bella was born in early September of the same year!  So, I think they have the same birthday.  We do not/have never celebrated their birthdays in the traditional way, but I try to make it an extra special day...I know, you can totally judge me!  This year, we took them to the Dog Park.  The last time we went, Reegan was a few months old and slept in the front pack the whole time.  This time was different.  (side note-she loves that hat and wants to wear it almost daily, it's so cute!)
It was so fun!  She kept looking around with a smile on her face and kept track of Ginger and Bella.  She would look for them and call their names when they got too far away.  She didn't even mind when a couple of dogs came up to her and licked her face.  She did mind when one of those dogs knocked her hat off though.
We will absolutely be returning soon.  The furry girls had a great time and Reegan had a great time.  Win, Win!!!

Shoe Obsession!

I knew from the moment we found out that a baby girl was in our future that there would come a time that this daughter of mine would be shopping - for clothes, for purses, for accessories...and for shoes as well.  I did not, however, expect for there to be any kind of obsession with any of these things at such a young age.

Reegan will be turning 19 months old tomorrow and I think at this point it's safe to say she is officially obsessed with SHOES!!  If her shoes are off, she's looking for them.  If she finds them - and she always does - then she's trying to put them on her feet.  If someone new comes into a room, she's surely showing them off (she'll hold out one foot and say "shoooeees" in the cutest little voice :).  And if that same person walking into the room has shoes on, then she's politely pointing out their shoes to everyone as well!

Now if she could just get the whole "left foot" and "right foot" thing down...

Nothing New

Nothing new is going on around the Heine Household. Its actually pretty nice.  We had a wild, busy weekend full of events, but this week is kinda dragging on. I'm not complaining, I loving my last full week at home with my baby.  Yep, thats right.  As of next Monday, I will be bringing home a paycheck!  I can't wait to be rolling in the dough...or just adding a little to our bank account.  Monday morning I start orientation at St Luke's in the Heart Institute, intermediate cardiac care to be specific.

As excited as I am to start working and get into my new routine, I was hoping for a couple more weeks at home without having to study.  My days at home during school and while studying for boards meant that all nap time and after Reegan's bedtime= studying.  Now that I don't have to study, nap times are my time!  I have been cleaning, searching the web, or my personal favorite, reading all of my magazines I didn't have time to read while in school!  One time, I even took a nap while Reegan napped.  Even though Reegan never sleeps longer than 90 minutes, I am going to miss these times!

No pictures today, the last couple of days have been very uneventful.  Even though the weather has been beautiful, Reegan and I have been inside for most of it, because she has not been feeling great.  I thought at first she was having allergy issues, but today she had a fever.  We are doing lots of cuddling, lots of drawing (her new favorite activity), and lots of reading.

Our next few weekends are pretty busy as well, so I'm sure we will have plenty of pics to share!

10 Years!

This weekend was a huge event.  It was our 10 Year Reunion.  Wow, i'm feeling pretty old I can't believe it has been 10 years.  Because it has been so long since we've seen many of these people, I didn't want to surprise/scare people by taking a million pics.  Therefore, we only have a couple including these 2.  The main event was Sunday evening and it was so much fun.  We also attended Kareoke night on Saturday night and family day at Deanna Rose on Saturday morning.  These are not all of the kids, but a few of the ones that would sit and fit on the bench.  Only one boy in the bunch...Jack and Reegan are good buddies along with Annabelle, who was not very happy to be sitting next to Jack :)

New Mexico

This is a really long post with a lot of pictures.  We had so much fun, I couldn't narrow it down any more than this.  What I really need to do it start making collages with the pictures....eventually I'll get to that :).

We headed out Thurs morning.  It was a long day, two flights and then a 3 hour car drive.  I was a little unsure how Reegan would handle it all, but she was great the whole trip.  She didn't let the changing settings and change in sleep affect her much at all.  The airplane was a lot of fun, Reegan wanted to check it all out.

She had her baby, purse, and blanket so all was good in the world!
We had a 2+ hour layover and after one lap around the concourse, she was out!
A couple of evenings, Reegan and I would head back to the hotel room while Jason and the rest of the family visited at his grandparents house.  During these times I let Reegan sleep in bed with me!  Jason then had the fun job of moving her when he got home!
Friday we headed out to Carlsbad Caverns.  Reegan stayed behind with Jan.  It was a good thing because it was a steep walk and they don't allow strollers.

Here is the opening to the cave, we had to wind our way down, but along the way there were a lot of really neat things to see.
The pictures don't do it justice, it was beautiful.
That afternoon, before we got ready for dinner we headed to the pool.  I'm not very good with the settings, so these are a little dark.  Sorry.
She loved to jump in and is becoming very brave.
In the mornings we also were able to go out with Jason's Uncle Randy in his plane.  I have never been a plane besides a large jet.  This was a very different experience.
First Jan
Then Jeff
My turn...it was real early in the morning, pretend like you don't see my sleepy eyes!
Lastly Jason.
By the time Jason was back, Reegan was awake and out there with us.  She didn't mind sitting the plane, but wanted nothing to do with the headphones.
On to the main event.  Jason's Grandmother's 80th birthday party.  Here she is with her husband and their 6 kids.
Reegan made a friend in Cousin Madison.
Balloons were a great hit!
A family photo.  I can't get over her blond hair, I hope it stays that color, but looking at Jason and I...I'm not sure it will.
Sunday we spent the day visiting and that afternoon we packed up and were ready for our drive back.
Jason and Jeff with Grandma.
With grandpa
Another group shot.
It took a little bit for Reegan to come around and enjoy being around all these new people, but once she did, she loved it. Gave all the guys a high-five before we left and gave great-grandma and great-grandpa a kiss.  We're so glad we had the opportunity to take Reegan to Carlsbad, NM and even though she wont remember it, the rest of us will.
